The first essential component of social justice is adequate food for all mankind. Food is the moral right of all who are born into this world. Join Capital Area Food Bank for its largest fundraiser of the year- the fourteenth annual Blue Jeans Ball. Gathering and celebrating at Washington Marriott Marquis, come ready in your denim finest for an evening of local libations and bites from over forty DC dines as well as a live auction. With the goal of funding more nutritious meals than ever before (they’re thinking BIG – like 1.25 million meals big), each 200$ ticket provides 500 meals for those in need. Many of us are so infinitely fortunate to have access to nourishing meals. Let’s share the wealth – because healthful meals and full bellies belongs to everyone. See you there!

The Capital Area Food Bank is the largest organization in the Washington metro area working to solve hunger and its companion problems: chronic undernutrition, heart disease, and obesity. By partnering with 444 community organizations in DC, MD, and VA, as well as delivering food directly into hard to reach areas, the CAFB is helping 540,000 people each year get access to good, healthy food. That’s 12% of the region’s mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, sisters, brothers, and grandparents.
