The #GoddessVibes // Curator Series promises a carefully selected collection of mantras, unbeaten paths, workouts, companies, recipes, colors, and accessories to inspire, impassion, and expand our worlds on a daily basis. After so much international participation in April 2014′s Goddess Month Conversation, #GoddessVibes // Curator Series aspires to continue that infectious positivity, commitment to self-love, and to embrace every day and live it to its fullest.
/ Lavender: Our bodies are such powerful entities- physically and emotionally guiding us through each moment of each day- moving and sensing. This June 17th I made a conscious and intentioned commitment to yoga, most specifically to focus on the beauty, positivity, and inspiration found within myself and in every moment. Taking a brilliant, yet somehow terrifying plunge, I joined a yoga studio; I’m doing it! Those 60-90 minutes on my mat are day changing, but what I appreciate, I suppose more than anything, is when I’m in savasana (a closing pose of total relaxation), and the studio fills with this overwhelmingly misty, overcoming, and so perfectly calming lavender essential oil. And all is good. You can find me at Tranquil Space // 1632 17th St. NW, DC
/ Chaia Tacos: My meals always begin with my eyes; drawn to the most striking colors, textures, brilliance- I aim for what’s freshest, rawest, most natural. I was first introduced to Chaia Tacos at Sweetlife Festival this past May. With a line that seemed half a mile long (and for excellent reason), the beautifully impassioned women of Chaia were their diligently making each taco to order. Each handmade tortilla was grilled to perfection, topped with innovative and plant based combinations of locally sourced and seasonal fare- I was/am completely hooked. Chaia tacos can be purchased individually or as a market trio, and although all are vegetarian, they are absolutely more than happy to make them vegan friendly. Perhaps a ‘Goddess Trio’ will be in their future (a girl can dream!)? White House Famers Market -Thursday 11-2:30PM & Dupont Circle FreshFarm Market -Sunday 8:30-2:30
/ Hurraw! SPF 15 Sun Balm: Summer is here in all its abundant and sunshiny glory, but with that comes our personal responsibility to nourish and nurture our skin (all over!). Hurraw!’s naturally raw, vegan, and broad spectrum SPF 15 lip balm is creamy, creamy with delicious tangerine and chamomile undertones. If sunshine’s not your speed, Moon Balm with blue chamomile is definitely worth an application.
/ Indigo: Powerfully transcendent- and dare I say vibrantly weathered- Indigo has burrowed its way into my conscious, wardrobe, and home. Known to stimulate deep concentration, introspection, and to summon creative juices, indigo’s vibes not only drew me towards the great doors and walls of Morocco, but are now making their way into the forefront of home design, fashion, and my bed sheets. On July 3rd I’ll be hosting, then sharing my experience with and the conversations surrounding, an Indigo Tie Dye Soirée- we’re going to paint the town blue.
/ Banana Avocado ‘Ice Cream’: I eat ice cream for breakfast every morning (TAKE THAT, MOM!). Actually, I imagine my mom is rather proud to have raised such an unwavering banana, avocado, wheatgrass consuming fiend. Blended to perfection, there is something so fundamentally magical (and naughty!) about a bowl of ‘ice cream’ in the a.m., doused in walnut and coconut ‘sprinkles’, slime green and so healthful it’s ironic. A daily staple in my diet, this creamy, creamy bowl of goodness, made with ripe avocado, speckled banana, and indulgent cinnamon is a must. Seriously, make this.
