Travel snackin’ // Here’s a delightful little look at what will be keeping me occupied on the airplane!
/ Chewy: As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, I can not get enough of that chewy chewy dried fruit goodness, especially on the road! Not to mention dried fruit is super portable and keeps well at room temperature for days on days. I’ve got Ginger & Cinnamon Spiced Dried Pears in my pack!
/ Crunchy: A few weeks back I discovered 2 Armadillos Co. crispy chickpeas in a local market. These organic and Washington, DC based little chickpeas come in Rosemary (featured), cinnamon toast, spicy cayenne, & tomato basil flavors- perfect for the on-the-go snacker with a dynamic palate. 2 Armadillos are delicious (think cinnamon toast chickpeas with a black coffee, YUM), packed with protein and fiber to keep you satiated, and come in the most convenient, and serving size appropriate, little resealable pouch.
/Green: As much as I WISH TSA (and Andrew) let me bring my juicer on the plane as a carry on (or even a prepared juice), no such luck man. To keep myself green on-the-go I always travel with a green-powder. For this trip I’m bringing along my Organic Burst organic, gluten free, and whole fiber containing wheatgrass powder. Wheatgrass powder is loaded with chlorophyll, essential fatty acids, antioxidants and vitamins A, C, and E, and is a natural immune system booster, perfect for keeping me healthful and glowing. (Don’t forget to pack a teaspoon!)
/ Sweet: It’s always nice to travel with a ‘sweet something’ to make you feel more at ease (and a bit indulgent!). Today I’m bringing my Ginger Spiced Banana Bread Buckwheat Granola (a mouthful worth filling your mouth with)- made with protein rich buckwheat, and naturally sweetening ripe banana and 100% pure maple syrup. Top that off with slowly toasted walnuts and raw coconut flakes and you have truly have perfection in your purse (or pocket).
/ Fresh: I always pack a fresh fruit (or two) when I’m going on a longer flight to not only wake up my taste buds (hello juicy grape!), but to help keep myself hydrated. For this flight I am packing fresh and juicy green, green grapes as well as a speckled banana. Both keep very well unrefrigerated and are not at great risk for smooshing.
/ Fun: Airports are not always (ever) the most exciting places to hang’. Today I’m brightening up my outfit, and hopefully the entire travel experience, with my Jaunt zoo pack fanny pack. The Zoo Pack has a special pouch to perfectly accommodate my passport (with room left for a few snacks) and leaves me hands free while I mill about with Andrew. Look for more information on Jaunt TOMORROW in my first #GoddessVibes // Curator Series!
