Today I wanted to share my absolute favorite go to green juice recipe: Greens, Lemon, Ginger & Apple Juice. This simple raw green juice contains refreshing, cleansing and immune boosting kale, lemon and ginger to not only help keep you feeling healthy through the winter months and this bizarre polar vortex, but to provide a grab-and-go nutrient packed meal addition or snack idea you’ll find yourself coming back to again and again.
In this juice you’ll find green nutritional powerhouses kale and spinach. Both are packed with iron, vitamin K, bone building calcium and magnesium, and are filled with fiber and sulfur, great for detoxifying your body and keeping your liver healthy.
Because we are most susceptible to illness during winter, the added ginger and lemon, natural expectorants used for thousands of years as natural treatments for colds and flu, can aid in expanding your lungs and loosening up phlegm and removing mucus. Delicious.
I always toss in a ripe apple or pear for additional sweetness, either of which are great for clearer skin, also aid in detoxifying your liver, and are again packed with immune boosting vitamin C.
This green juice is not meant to be a meal replacement, it doesn’t not contain enough calories to constitute a meal, however it makes the perfect addition to a lighter breakfast as well as a cleansing mid afternoon snack. Drink up!!
